HOW WE CELEBRATED THE VESAK FESTIVAL

 

Usually Buddhists celebrate the Vesak festival in a grand manner. We celebrate the vesak festival to commemorate Lord Buddha's birth, enlightenment and parinirvana. Like last year, because of this pandemic situation this year we didn't get a chance to celebrate Vesak festival. Therefore, this year's Vesak festival was celebrated only with family members.But I think these couple of years are the best years in which we celebrated the Vesak festival very calmly. All of our family members got together happily to celebrate this festival.

With the help of our parents me and my sister prepared vesak lanterns and decorated them. After making lanterns, my sister and I decided to make candle buckets too. But we faced a little problem. That was, we didn't have transparent colour papers to make buckets. My sister gave me an idea to make them using colour half sheet papers. So we made them in different colours. 

We were full of joy. Our father and mother did the decorations using bulbs. Finally they hanged our vesak lanterns and candle buckets. The decorations we did were really nice. Likewise we simply and calmly celebrated Vesak festival this year.
